zhao lijun and bradnee chambers exchanged gifts
doctor bradnee chambers, executive secretary of the convention on the conservation of migratory species of wild animals (cms) under the united nations environment programme (unep) visited china recently at the invitation of china biodiversity conversation and green development foundation (cbcgdf). during his trip, he met with zhao lijun, chairman & ceo of poten environment group co., ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “poten enviro” or “the group”), on november 1, 2016. the two sides had a discussion on such topics as ecological protection and environmental public welfare.
as mr. chambers noted, back in this april at the harvard china forum, mr. zhao’s vision of the future environment protection and his compelling sense of responsibility for the sector had impressed him deeply and made him interested in further discussion with mr. zhao.
better ecology, better life
during the meeting, mr. chambers mentioned that the protection of wild species needs the collective effort of the entire mankind. as he said, if we, this generation of mankind, fail to act now, our offspring will have no chance to appreciate the biodiversity of the world.
in the words of mr. zhao, mr. chambers’ passion for and commitment to the undertaking of biodiversity protection holds everyone in awe. poten enviro takes “creating an environment where humans and the nature are in harmony” as its mission and is dedicated to improving the ecological environment and bringing people a better life.
mr. chambers was present at a public welfare activity aimed to arouse environmental awareness among young people during his visit to china
it is said that during his stay in china, mr. chambers also attended the “ecological belt and road” and cms seminar hosted by the cbcgdf where he had fruitful dialogues on the relevant topics with officials from the chinese people’s political consultative conference (cppcc), the revolutionary committee of the chinese kuomintang, the ministry of environmental protection and other national organizations as well as experts and representatives from home and abroad. in addition, he also conducted on-site inspections to some chinese wildlife migration and rescue stations.

dr. bradnee chambers, executive secretary of unep/cms, has jointed the united nations for nearly 20 years. the positions he held there include senior legal officer of unep and director of coordination and policies for multilateral environmental agreements. he played an important leading role in the nairobi-helsinki ministerial consultative process on international environment governance and the earth summit 2002 (rio’s earth summit 10). the works he published over the past two decades cover such themes as the interlinkages and the effectiveness of multilateral environmental agreements (meas), international environmental governance, and trade and environment.
