the 10th iwa world water congress & exhibition took place in brisbane from october 9 to 13, 2016. at the invitation of the organizing committee, poten environment group co., ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “poten enviro” or “the group”) attended the event in order to brief other guests in presence on the status quo and prospect of the chinese environmental protection industry and provided the world a glimpse into the leading environmental service provider from china.
during the meeting, a delegation of poten enviro led by vice president ji junbiao was present at the ribbon-cutting ceremony and the mayor’s welcome dinner party and also convened a business salon themed “china, future and water”. besides, mr. ji junbiao took part in the keynote plenary session entitled “managing water security in a rapidly urbanizing environment” and later on the same day poten enviro’s assistant vice president zhang lunliang delivered a keynote speech on the membrane processes session to introduce the world-leading aquaporin inside technology and relevant products.
aquaporin occurs naturally in animal and plant cells. it has two precious properties—extra high water permeability and remarkable rejection power of other subjects like sugar, salt and heavy metals. american scientist peter agre won the 2003 nobel prize in chemistry for his discovery of the aquaporin water channels. the membrane products developed based on the technology are bringing revolutionarily technical advances to the entire membrane industry. the aquaporin inside membranes (aims), compared with other membrane products on the market, can enhance the water permeability by 30%-40% without changing the salt rejection rate, thus reducing energy consumption greatly. poten enviro’s aims proved to be a magnet for visitors at the singapore international water week held in this july.
seizing this occasion, poten enviro also offered a full account of its sound water treatment techniques, envious business performance and rich project experience. its ultimate pursuit for quality programs and customer services made a highlight of the exhibition.
the iwa world water congress & exhibition is the globe’s highest-level water environment event. before brisbane, the biennial congress has been held nine times in paris, berlin, beijing and other places. each session has been widely participated in by water environmental professionals from all over the world.
the event this year attracted over 5,000 industry experts and renowned companies from more than 100 countries across the water sector. themed as “shaping our water future”, it focused on asia-pacific, drew attention to water challenges facing different industries, and looked for solutions to water shortage and pollution like sea water desalination, water reuse, and mining wastewater disposal.
